Read in English — ✴︎ Juvenile Oriental Magpie Robin
Called Shikichō (“Four Seasons Bird”) for its year-round song, this little robin is found from India through Southeast Asia to southern China — and is the national bird of Bangladesh.
The juvenile shows softer tones of gray-brown, unlike the striking black-and-white of adults. Shorter, lighter bill and gentle plumage give it a tender look.
As it grows, it turns bold and territorial, yet sings with a clear, uplifting voice — a symbol of vibrant life.
