黒斑山（くろふやま）は、長野県小諸市と群馬県嬬恋村に跨る、標高2,404mの山。
蛇骨岳（じゃこつだけ）は、標高2,366m、黒斑山から稜線を辿る先にあり、火口原・湯の平を眼下に望む。

浅間山の第一外輪山としてそびえる黒斑山は、幾度もの噴火によって形作られた壮大な景観を見下ろす場所。 蛇骨岳の名は、山肌を這う蛇の骨格のような黒い岩の模様に由来する。 火山の猛威が生み出したこの地形は、噴火の記憶を刻み続ける証。
歩みを進めるごとに、荒涼とした風景の先にそびえる浅間山の姿が圧倒的な存在感を放つ。 長い年月をかけて風雪と火山活動が刻んだ無数の縦筋。 その山肌は、激しい自然の営みを静かに物語る。
悠久の時を見守るかのように、山々は今日もそこに佇み続ける。

Mt. Kurofu (2,404 m) straddles Komoro City in Nagano Prefecture and Tsumagoi Village in Gunma Prefecture.
Mt. Jakotsu (2,366 m) lies along the ridge extending from Kurofu, overlooking the crater basin of Yunotaira below.
As the foremost outer rim of Mt. Asama, Mt. Kurofu offers sweeping views of the dramatic terrain sculpted by countless eruptions. The name Jakotsu—literally “Snake Bones”—derives from the dark rock patterns along its slopes that resemble the skeleton of a serpent. This rugged landscape, born of volcanic fury, remains a living testament to the mountain’s eruptive past.
Step by step, the desolate ridgeline reveals the overwhelming presence of Mt. Asama looming ahead. Its flanks bear countless vertical striations carved over long ages by wind, snow, and volcanic force—each line a quiet record of nature’s unrelenting power.
As if watching over eternity, these mountains continue to stand in silence.
In the severe depths of winter, when temperatures plunge to –15°C, the cold breath of the season forges a crystalline world of ice. Snow and wind weave the ridges in pure white, deepening the mountains’ aura of mystery in winter’s stillness.
Crossing the ridge, one pauses in the silence—feeling the pulse of the earth that inscribes the history of Asama.
