Read in English — ✴︎ Autumn on the Asama Outer Rim
The outer rim of Mount Asama is formed by a curved line of peaks—Kurofu, Jakotsu, Sennin, and Nokogiri—encircling the volcano. The ridge can be followed as a traverse, and as you approach Nokogiri-dake, the distance to Asama narrows, bringing an increasing sense of scale and intensity. The presence of the volcano, along with the dark, rugged lava walls, fills your view and conveys a powerful atmosphere.
Descending from Nokogiri-dake via the J-Band and continuing toward the base of Kurofu-yama through the “Kusasuberi” area, the terrain becomes gentler—standing in contrast to the rocky outer rim. With each step, the richness of the vegetation becomes more apparent.
InBy walking this circular route that arcs around the landscape, you can experience the autumn scenery surrounding Mount Asama in a more three-dimensional and immersive way.
